London Zoo were keen to encourage more native wild species at the Regent's Park site. The orgainsation London's Swifts surveyed the Regent's Park site and selected the "Bugs!" building, which has very broad eaves providing a cool site, well shaded from the sun, as being a good site for the installation of swift nest-boxes. Six Schwegler Swift nest boxes were fitted to the "Bugs!" building.

As there were no Swifts nesting in the immediate area sound lures - a CD of swift calls played over a PA system during the early mornings and late afternoons - were used to attract the birds. This had the required effect, and Swifts were examining the "Bugs!" house nest boxes by summer 2003, a remarkably quick response.

Swifts visited both sites in late summer 2003, and again in the next two years. Swifts were known to be occupying the boxes by the summer of 2006, and inspection, after they had left, revealed evidence of breeding.
